Event Details

Every August, thousands of denim-clad devotees descend upon Hamburg for one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most unconventional gatherings: Weltturbojugendtage. More than just a music festival, it is an international reunion of the global Turbojugend community, a fan club founded in 1995 to celebrate the irreverent spirit of Norwegian deathpunk legends Turbonegro. What began as a small gathering of like-minded fans has grown into a four-day celebration that attracts members from dozens of countries, all proudly representing their local “chapters” with customized back patches stitched onto their iconic sleeveless denim jackets.

Held across the legendary St. Pauli district, Weltturbojugendtage embraces everything that makes the neighborhood unique. Concerts fill intimate clubs such as Hafenklang, Molotow and Indra, while bars, beer gardens and the streets themselves become meeting places where old friends reunite, and newcomers are welcomed into the fold. The atmosphere is unlike any traditional festival; there are no sprawling festival grounds or VIP areas, only a shared passion for loud guitars, cold beer and an unwavering sense of camaraderie.

Although Turbonegro remains the spiritual heart of the movement, Weltturbojugendtage has evolved into a showcase for garage rock, punk, hardcore, metal and high-energy rock ‘n’ roll from around the world. Established acts share bills with emerging bands, creating an eclectic lineup that reflects the broad musical tastes of the Turbojugend family while maintaining the raw, DIY ethos that defines the event.

Beyond the music, Weltturbojugendtage is built on tradition. Annual chapter meetings, quirky competitions, spontaneous pub crawls and countless stories told over late-night drinks make every edition unique.

Headliners this year are Turbonegro, The Good The Bad And The Zugly, and The Meffs + loads of other bands, all punk rock related.
