The crown jewel of the Swedish indie festivals. Running on the 16th year, the festival has always been at the front of development, booking the most interesting artists and constantly expanding and elaborating the concept. Located in Slottsskogen in central Gothenburg, the venue is one of the nicest of the year, and when the music stops in the park, the party moves on to venues downtown Gothenburg. The festival turned vegetarian a few years back, to much spite of many (often non-festival-goers), and took the next step going full vegan in recent years. Way Out West was one of the first Swedish festivals leading the trend away from camping festivals, which obviously is both a good and bad thing, but the lineup and venue have always been the absolute best of the year in Sweden.
