Formed in the late 1990s in California, Linkin Park broke out as one of the defining rock bands of the 21st century — blending metal, hip-hop, electronic and alternative rock into a sound that connected with millions around the world. Their early albums, Hybrid Theory and Meteora, became global phenomena with hits like “In the End,” “Numb” and “One Step Closer,” helping the band sell over 100 million records and win multiple awards.
After more than a decade of success and artistic evolution, the band was struck by tragedy when co-lead vocalist Chester Bennington died in 2017, leading to a long period of silence.
In 2023–24, Linkin Park quietly began a new chapter, inviting Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain to join longtime members Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell to write and record fresh music. Their comeback culminated in the critically acclaimed 2024 album From Zero, a record that embraced both the band’s emotional roots and renewed creative energy, topping charts in multiple countries and spawning stand-out singles such as “The Emptiness Machine.”
Since then, Linkin Park has hit the road on the From Zero World Tour – their first worldwide trek in seven years – celebrating their legacy while introducing a vibrant new era of music and performance. On 18 March they swing by Auckland for a show at Spark Arena.
