Messed!Up
Emerging from Los Angeles in 2018, alexsucks have built a reputation on infectious garage rock riffs, dance-punk grooves and an unapologetically carefree attitude that feels equally indebted to punk pioneers like The Clash and the sleazy swagger of early-2000s indie rock. Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Alex Alvarez alongside bassist Garrett Orseno (DJ Topgun), guitarist John Luther and drummer Jonny Ransom, the band first connected through skateboarding before turning their shared love of loud guitars and reckless live shows into one of alternative rock’s fastest-rising success stories.
Their breakthrough came with the 2021 single “Talk To You,” a track that quickly accumulated millions of streams and established alexsucks as a band capable of blending catchy hooks with raw, distorted energy. The momentum continued with their debut album The Gutter in 2023, produced by Brendan O’Brien, featuring fan favourites such as “6 Pack and Cigarettes.” The record showcased a group equally comfortable writing singalong choruses and gritty rock anthems, earning them sold-out headline shows while also landing support slots alongside acts including The Black Keys and Plain White T’s.
Rather than slowing down, the band continued to evolve. Their 2024 EP Warm Beers expanded their sonic palette with elements of alternative rock and dance music while retaining the scrappy attitude that made them stand out in the first place. Festival appearances, support dates with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and an increasingly devoted fanbase helped transform alexsucks from an underground favourite into one of the most talked-about young rock bands in America. Their first headlining “Dance Punch Cry” tour in 2025 sold out across North America, proving their explosive live reputation was more than justified.
The next chapter arrived in 2026 with the release of their sophomore album, Autopilot. Featuring the singles “What’re We Doing Here,” “Flowers & Dirt” and “Can We Forget,” the record refined their signature mix of swagger, melody and controlled chaos while pushing their songwriting to new heights. Released through Warner Records, Autopilot further cemented the band’s place among the new generation of alternative rock leaders.
Following the album’s release, alexsucks embarked on an extensive 2026 European run, bringing their high-octane performances to clubs and festivals across the continent. The tour includes appearances at Denmark’s NorthSide Festival before heading through major cities such as Paris, Amsterdam and London, introducing European audiences to the band’s sweat-soaked, unpredictable live show.
At the end of September and beginning of October, the band stop off in Germany for two gigs.
