South Arcade announce three dates in Germany in March 2027

South Arcade are one of the most exciting young bands to emerge from the UK’s alternative music scene in the 2020s. Blending pop-punk, alternative rock, electronic elements, and the nostalgia of the early 2000s, the Oxford-based quartet have built a rapidly growing fanbase through infectious songs, energetic live performances, and a strong social media presence.

The band was formed in 2021 by vocalist Harmony Cavelle and guitarist Harry Winks while studying in Guildford, England. They were later joined by bassist Ollie Green and drummer Cody Jones, completing the lineup that remains together today. After meeting at university, the group relocated to Oxford, where they developed their distinctive sound and began playing early shows in garages and small venues. The band’s name was inspired by a sign near the Westgate shopping centre in Oxford.

Drawing inspiration from the golden age of Y2K pop culture, South Arcade combine chunky nu-metal riffs, pop melodies, synth-driven production, and modern alternative rock. Influences ranging from pop stars such as Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani to rock acts like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit helped shape their unique style, which the band often describes as “Y2K-core.”

The group’s breakthrough began with singles such as “Danger,” “Silverlight,” and “Nepo Baby.” Their popularity exploded through TikTok and Instagram, where rehearsal clips and behind-the-scenes videos attracted millions of views. By late 2024, South Arcade had become one of the most talked-about new bands in British alternative music.

In December 2024, they released their debut EP, 2005, featuring fan favourites including “Stone Cold Summer,” “How 2 Get Away with Murder,” and the title track. The EP received positive reviews and helped establish the band as rising stars. Extensive touring followed, including support slots with artists such as Yours Truly, Dead Pony, Magnolia Park, and Taylor Acorn.

The year 2025 proved pivotal. South Arcade signed a publishing deal with Kobalt Music Group and later secured a recording contract with Atlantic Records. They toured internationally, appeared at major festivals including Reading & Leeds and Slam Dunk, and released singles such as “Supermodels” and “Drive Myself Home.” Their second EP, PLAY!, arrived in late 2025 and showcased a broader musical range while maintaining the band’s trademark energy and nostalgia.

In March 2027, they stop off in Germany for three dates:

  • 5 March at Lido, Berlin
  • 11 March at Strom, Munich
  • 16 March at Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld (CBE), Cologne

About J.N.

Music researcher with an unhealthy passion for music and music festivals. Former studio owner, semi-functional drummer and with a fairly good collection of old analogue synthesizers from the 70's. Indie rock, post rock, electronic/industrial and drum & bass (kind of a mix, yeah?) are usual stuff in my playlists but everything that sounds good will fit in.
