Looking Back At ‘Winter Forever’, Kyle’s Swagger & New Self-Titled Album: Interview with Seahaven

I didn’t think I’d get to witness one of my favorite bands from my early days coming back to play their first album 15 years later. But I did, and it happened, and here we are – in our v cool machine room set while the support, Carsick, is blasting through the walls –discussing the record that was such a staple in my early twenties. Even back then,’ Winter Forever’ had an incredible maturity in sound, and it has maintained, if not strengthened its sonic relevance over the years. I stole Kyle and Eric from Seahaven ahead of their show at Nochtwache in Hamburg, where they played the entirety of ‘Winter Forever’ and then some. Nostalgia isn’t the only thing driving the band from Torrance, California though. In fact, they are about to unleash a self-titled full-length record on June 5th – do not miss the drop of what promises to be another album worthy of a 15-year anniversary celebration.

About Sophie Dobschall

German-bred, (ex?-)London-based, not American. Likes high quality banter and video interviews with a dash of photo pit. Feed her loud, sad emo bangers all day every day. Andrew W.K.’s party tips should be anyone’s life philosophy. Does not care that you hate her favorite band, Canadian pop-punk legends Simple Plan. Fight me.
