Part-Time Friends: Feel good French indie pop duo back with new album

J.N. 18/03/2021

We had lovely indie pop two-piece Part-Time Friends, consisting of Florent Biolchini and Pauline Lopez De Ayora, for an interview at Reeperbahn Festival 2018 at 1.30 PM after an amazing live show where everything broke down and the keyboarder used a 35kg synthesizer as a keytar at the end of the show.

Florent met Pauline met for the first time during college, Pauline joined Florent’s rock band but after years of collaboration and arguments, they left the garage-rock aesthetic behind for an anti-folk, pop vibe that would lead them to a debut album Fingers Crossed on Un Plain Simple and when nothing seemed to happen Citroën threw in their single “Art Counter” in one of their TV commercials leading to a nationwide breakthrough. In 2018 the sophomore album Born To Try was released and yet another major hit struck the world when the “made in a break” song “Streets And Stories” gained lots of attention on the scene and is today the band’s most streamed song on Spotify.

And not they’re back with album no.3! Today they release Weddings and Funerals!

About The Author

Music researcher with an unhealthy passion for music and music festivals. Former studio owner, semi-functional drummer and with a fairly good collection of old analogue synthesizers from the 70's. Indie rock, post rock, electronic/industrial and drum & bass (kind of a mix, yeah?) are usual stuff in my playlists but everything that sounds good will fit in.
