ÄTNA: Electro poppers made to desire

J.N. August 4, 2020

When Innovation Network of European Showcases, or simply INES, presented its #Talent Growth Charts for June, the band with the most Spotify streams by far was Dresden-raised, but Berlin-based, electropop two-piece ÄTNA. After self-titled EP “ÄTNA” and the 2018 EP “La Famiglia” vocalist Inéz and producer Demian tied the knots together and released their debut album “Made by Desire” in February this year, a record that offers up a brightly colored, electro pop-driven purge at a time when it feels like there’s nothing left to discover on that scene.

With an avant-garde approach to music and an undeniable knack for a hook, the band have been cooking up a storm over the past year, and have been put alongside artists like Grimes and Fever Ray. Lucky for us they’ll turn up at Reeperbahn Festival (if it happens!) in September leaving an opening for Messed!Up to catch up with the duo.

About The Author

Music researcher with an unhealthy passion for music and music festivals. Former studio owner, semi-functional drummer and with a fairly good collection of old analogue synthesizers from the 70's. Indie rock, post rock, electronic/industrial and drum & bass (kind of a mix, yeah?) are usual stuff in my playlists but everything that sounds good will fit in.
