Big Spring: Explosive alternative rock and excellent songwriting

J.N. July 3, 2019

Four-piece alternative rock act Big Spring had a breakthrough already in 2015 when the played Reading and Leeds Festival, and releazsed them amazing wingle “Buzzards Leave the Bones” the same year. And it sounds big!

They move in a sonic landscape in between alternative rock and grunge and those big sounding guitar riffs we were used to hear in many bands of the nineties. Clash Magazine call it a “mammoth industrial sound”; it’s huge and riff-filled songs throughout their EP’s “Cold Foot” and “New Wave”, and it continues on 2019 single “Reset”. Listen to something that takes you back to the nineties but rooted in the sound of the 2010s.

About The Author

Music researcher with an unhealthy passion for music and music festivals. Former studio owner, semi-functional drummer and with a fairly good collection of old analogue synthesizers from the 70's. Indie rock, post rock, electronic/industrial and drum & bass (kind of a mix, yeah?) are usual stuff in my playlists but everything that sounds good will fit in.
