Messed!Up Magazine’s adorable crew has many skills and qualities that can’t be transformed into written words. Let’s face it, we’re not poets nor are we photogenic but we are passionate about music – and that’s a quality we are very proud of.
Music researcher with an unhealthy passion for music and music festivals. Former studio owner, semi-functional drummer and with a fairly good collection of old analogue synthesizers from the 70's. Indie rock, post rock, post punk, electronic/industrial and drum & bass (kind of a mix, yeah?) are usual stuff in my playlists but everything that sounds good will fit in.
Music nerd from Cologne (yeah, we are sorry) because of the Highlander movie thus buying Queen’s “Kind of Magic”. Equally interested in eurodisco – although it’s crappy – 60s stuff and ska punk but under much influence of Nirvana. In an ongoing beef with the editor – that bastard – about who’s gonna interview Blood Red Shoes. Loves squirrels and horses. Get over it!
Energy researcher and semi-proud owner of probably the largest collection of Placebo-records in Sweden. Spins wax, or rather clicks MP3s, under the name DJ Pappaledig. Former concert promotor at KDM that loves going to festivals, also part of the DJ duo Festfolk and listens way too much on indie rock (by choice) and children's music (well, at least by someone's choice…).
One of those dudes we found at festival while he took part in a Lionel Richie look-a-like contest (but didn’t win for some reason) and we hired him on the spot. Also known as the “Penguin from Rotenburg” for his full-sized penguin costume. Indie rock, indie pop and everything with rave in it alongside Lionel Richie covers – that’s what you will get when you hang-around the penguin.
A music enthusiast with huge interest in photography and videography. The perfect symbiosis would be to combine the aural and visual part. To actually see and capture how favourite bands look like while performing on stage. Main musical interest lies in independent/alternative music although some favourites belong to completely different genres of music.
The dudess of the Bremen crew at Messed!Mag although living in Hamburg. Sometimes hired out to the SAE Institute to do some stuff in Cross Media Production. Hell of a bad beer drinker but a devoted photographer that from time to time ends up producing music videos. Have promised everyone in the staff to stop smoking before the end of 2018.
Found in the gutter in one of the darker corners of St Pauli trying to bite people’s arms. A passionate photographer with a remarkable good eye for portraits and concert pics. Has an unhealthy relationship to her camera in general and karaoke bars in particular. Usually hangs out in Hamburg Kneipenchor and is known for some spectacular moves during shows.
The queen of darkness at Messed!Up found after the editor fell asleep at a local goth club in Hamburg. Background in East Germany where people are literally born with cameras in their hands. Love the darker scenes of music, a dedicated tour photographer, been around with her cam since Bauhaus were founded but is still the youngest at Messed!Up. Hell of a dog paparazzo!
He’s not a myth rather a living legend that soon has written his second book on the topic how you don’t meet the opposite sex. Born at the Roskilde Festival where his mom made an orange costume of the fabric leftovers when the Orange stage was built in 1979. Natural born camera man although he would never admit it, loves schlager, and are amused by Swedes trying to speak German.
Originating from Bologna but arrived directly from photography school in Milano, Italy, just to cool down the strained relationship between Sweden and Italy arising from the play-offs to the World Cup in football (Swedes are too cocky). A devoted indie rock fan turning the camera to bands like Editors, Mount Kimbie and Beach House. Don’t like video games. Period.
Government-employed psychologist by day, DJ by night. Trying to influence my two sons to enjoy my favorite music. Succeeds sometimes, sometimes not. Dragged my father around half of Manchester to see 384 Kings Road. Dragged my oldest son through a scorching Berlin to show him Hauptstraße 155. Dragged myself through the 90s just to realize that was when my favorite music was made

Nobody knows who Ms. Anonymous is, nor where she lives – it’s a mystery! According to Ms. Anonymous herself she doesn’t even has a function or any chores to do. However, from time to time a few minor things mysteriously turn up at the editor’s office desk such as stickers, business cards, website design ideas and many other things we don’t know where they come from. Just saying.
