RØYLS talk debut EP, tattoos, pets and a future RØYLS cruise

Sophie Dobschall September 11, 2019

My softer side can really get down with this – multinational trio RØYLS kind of came out of nowhere but at the same time their explosion of energy, talent and smiles has been a long time in the making. Even before singer Sean Killeen, bassist Liam Ross and guitarist Drew Dirksen got together for the making of their debut single “Savages” followed by their EP “I Think Too Much”, they’ve each been making music for quite some time now in one way or another. Add some writing sessions with John Feldmann and you’ve got a pretty tasty recipe for a record full of bops from start to finish.

I had the chance to meet up with the very hungry (but also very lovely!) band ahead of their very first headliner at Islington Academy. Sean, Liam and Drew talk me through their EP with some making-of fun facts, we talk about scars, tattoos, fears and pets and I think it’s safe to say we’ve developed a new business idea by suggesting a RØYLS cruise.
