Waterstrider: Electronically mysterious with falsetto vocals

J.N. August 6, 2019

Bay Area-based artist Nate Salman sure lives up to his moniker Waterstrider. A few weeks ago he returned to the experimental indie scene with a new mysterious guitar and synth-fueled EP, “Way Out”. Following a series of personal ups and downs, Salman  harnessed the negative energy in those hardships and turned them into something beautiful on the EP. With falsetto vocals and funk infused rhythms, there are echoes of a “Currents”-era Tame Impala albeit, more insular.

About The Author

Music researcher with an unhealthy passion for music and music festivals. Former studio owner, semi-functional drummer and with a fairly good collection of old analogue synthesizers from the 70's. Indie rock, post rock, electronic/industrial and drum & bass (kind of a mix, yeah?) are usual stuff in my playlists but everything that sounds good will fit in.
